As promised/threatened...another build.  A (fairly) faithful replica of the Mile End Fire Brigade Box circa 1975.

I have too much time on my hands.

Great stuff Dave
I reckon this will be only model of this particular box in the whole world ;)
Now here's the irony, you say you haven't seen last side of the box as levitating over the tunnel would be only way, well that's the only side I ever saw, peering upwards whilst emerging from the tunnel, driving the old BR lorry one morning ;D.

Looking brilliant again Dave
As to the rear having windows or not. I haven't got a clue. It was just a glimpse. After all, one is supposed to keep one's eyes on the road whilst driving  ;)
How about the box at the other of the tunnel. I saw it once (On the same day) and the door was hanging off, not sure which hinge though ;D
Keep up the good work son

Thanks for that.  It's going to take quite a few coats, but it's covering well now.  Unfortunately it really doesn't look very interesting just all red with a black top.  There's just not enough detail on there (no phone plate, no handles, no different coloured windows, no glass).  I hope it'll look a bit better when I've weathered it.  I dunno, I might put some graffiti on, or maybe even stick a bit of pavement under it, a piece of wall, and a road sign.

I never knew there was one at the other end of the tunnel until I saw the Tardis Library site.  I have a soft spot for it's memory though, because it was the last box I've ever seen (never been to Crich, even though I live in Derbyshire).

Latest update : http://www.spacewarp.co.uk/who/RedBoxBuild03.htm

3rd coat of red paint.  Thanks to the flash it looks somewhat lighter and more orangey than in reality.  I reckon one more coat should finish the base colour, then it's time to start weathering.

re: colour... try fixing it in photoshop...

Or, if you have a way of supporting the camera, do it on timed, without flash and allow the camera to compensate for you :)

The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.

And the press get fed the scapegoats,

Turned the flash off, hence the blurring, but this is more or less the colour.

To be honest it's not quite the same pink as the box.  Maybe I'll have to stand it out in the London sun for 10 years lol.
